September 17th – 20th 2015 – New Music Festival for Cork – Sounds from a Safe Harbour
Sounds from a Safe Harbour is a brand new festival of music, art and conversation that will bring a huge international creative cast to Cork this September 2015 to celebrate the port city’s place on the world’s stage in a unique setting. Sounds from a Safe Harbour has been in the making for two years, by Bryce Dessner of The National and Cork Opera House CEO, Mary Hickson.
In a unique and unified gesture, many of Cork city’s artistic spaces will participate in hosting the festival including Cork Opera House, The Everyman Palace Theatre, UCC, Port of Cork, Triskel Christchurch, Firkin Crane, Crawford Art Gallery, Wandesford Quay Gallery, Sternview Gallery and many more. There will also be an extensive music trail programmed throughout the city.
Highlights include ‘Wave Movements’ – a new composition by Bryce Dessner and Richard Reed Parry (Arcade Fire) – performed at Cork Opera House by the RTE National Symphony Orchestra and accompanied with film by the celebrated Japanese photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto. Choice Music Award Winner’s “The Gloaming” as well as a collaboration between Lisa Hannigan and Aaron Dessner.
Guinness Cork Jazz Festival 2015
The Clarion Hotel is the perfect escape in the heart of Cork City for the Cork Jazz Festival weekend from Friday 23rd October until Monday 26th October 2015.

Only a short walk from the Clarion Hotel, Cork Opera House in Cork city centre offers an all-year programme of concerts and events to suit all tastes.
The Decades Festival
The Decades Festival is happening on the 21st and 22nd of August with over 30 Cork City Licensed outlets celebrating a decade of their choice in music and promotions. The Decades is Irelands largest fancy dress party where owner/managers ,bar staff and consumers are encouraged to get into the Decade of their choice. There are prizes on the weekend for best bar staff , best female , male and best couple fancy dress independently judged.
