Il Divo Live in Cork this June 21st
The City of Cork Symphony Orchestra presents Il Divo, to perform at a fully seated 5-hour event at Musgrave Park, on Midsummer’s Night (Saturday, 21 June 2014) at 6.00pm. This is a fully seated event, catering to 14,500 concert goers. A first for Musgrave Park, the stadium will have full bar and catering facilities.

Ocean to City - Cork's Maritime Festival: 28th May - 1st June
(main race finishes on Saturday 31st May outside the Clarion Hotel)
Ocean to City - An Rás Mór is Ireland's very own long-distance rowing race attracting hundreds of participants annually. Now in its tenth year, it has grown from its origin as a race for traditional fixed-seat boats into an all-inclusive rowing event, embracing everything from traditional wooden working boats, currachs, skiffs, gigs and longboats to contemporary ocean racing shells, kayaks and canoes.
Cork City Marathon – Monday 2nd June
The Cork City Marathon is a great Cork Tradition now on the Monday of the June Bank Holiday weekend. Alongside the main marathon and team relay, they now have an official half marathon and a youth team relay.
Live at the Marquee Cork from 9th June – 15th July
This is the 10th anniversary of Live At The Marquee & there are 19 fantastic concerts this year. We are the closest hotel to The Marquee.

Pulses of Tradition
Pulses of Tradition is an authentic, Irish multi-media experience, featuring internationally recognised traditional musicians and dancers. This incredible show brings you on a journey from ancient Irish airs, songs and dances to modern day intercultural music & dance. It is a celebration of tradition in 21st century Ireland, and is a must-see in Cork, for visitors and locals alike. The venue is the Triskel Christchurch and it runs from 12th June – 13th Sept
Cork Food Festival as part of the Cork Summer Show from 13th – 15th June
There are lots of things to see and do at the 2014 Cork Summer Show, they have sourced the best quality food operators to bring you the finest quality products at the right price. Whether you want to just browse around the showgrounds and pick up a nice juicy Beef Burger and eat it along the way or perhaps sit down and be served in the Food Marquee, the choice is yours.
Irish Open Golf at Fota Golf Resort from 19th – 22nd June
One of the European Tour’s most prestigious tournaments, the Irish Open, returns to Fota Island Resort, Cork this summer for the fourth time. It’s Ryder Cup year and the Irish Open is lucky to be able to host a field that includes some of the world’s best golfers. Last year’s winner, Paul Casey, returns as do Ireland’s major winners Rory McIlroy, Graeme McDowell, Pádraig Harrington and Darren Clarke – sharing seven majors between them! 2009 champion Shane Lowry will also make the trip to the picturesque Co. Cork course.
Cork Midsummer Festival from 19th – 23rd June
This year’s Cork Midsummer Festival will focus on promoting the fantastic arts activities taking place around Cork in June, providing just a snapshot of some of the wonderful arts and cultural activity happening in the city in the summer. It is a collaborative Festival, with each of the venues and artists choosing to participate, with work they would like to present within the Festival context.
Shandon Street Festival and Food Fair
This great festival, in close proximity to our hotel, is a great day out for the whole family. There is a great mixture of food, music, sport, craft and more at the festival which runs from 1pm to 6pm. The festival celebrates the history and community spirit of "Old Cork", it is a real old fashioned community event to celebrate the true identity of the area. It is always one of the most vibrant days on the local summer events calendar so be sure not to miss it!
Volvo “Cork Week” in Crosshaven from 5th – 11th July (Sailing Event)
The secret of Cork Week’s success cannot be attributed to any one rule or aspect of it’s organisation. It’s a Sailing competition in Crosshaven. It’s success is found in the eclectic mix of classes, competitors, good courses, good company, our team of dedicated volunteers and the good humour of our 10,000 visitors
Footwork Festival – it’s a festival of Dance from 11th – 13th July
This is the first year of the Footwork Festival in Cork. It’s a festival of fantastic music, up-tempo dancing, with the cream of bands, DJs & dance teachers across all of the genres that you can't resist shaking a leg to. We are going to swing, jive, salsa, samba, belly dance, ceili & rockabilly for 4 great days.
Lee Swim (in front of the Clarion Hotel) – 12th July
The Lee Swim is one of the top open water swimming events in Ireland and everyone is welcome. The Lee River course runs through the centre of the City to maximise crowds – a great family event!
Originally held in 1914, the 2005 event drew 110 swimmers and crowds in excess of 5,000. Since then the event has attracted an average entry of 300 swimmers. This year the Lee Swim Organising Committee is planning for 400! Most of the swimmers compete for age group prizes, some raise money for local charities and a good number just swim for the enjoyment of the day and the cheers of family and friends.
Following the swim a very social atmosphere continues on the boardwalk outside the Clarion Hotel and various festivities into the night
Cork Opera House - Summer Production of Hairspray
Cork Opera House presents the smash hit Broadway Musical HAIRSPRAY. Winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, HAIRSPRAY is a big, bouncy bouffant of a musical, piled high with laughter, romance, and deliriously tuneful songs.
The show runs from 26th July until 23rd August
